Gaurav Taneja
Gaurav Taneja is an Indian YouTube personality, fitness expert, and pilot. He is best known for his popular fitness-related YouTube channel 'Flying Beast', which has over 6 million subscribers.[1]
Early life and education
Gaurav Taneja was born on 5 October 1986 in Allahabad, India.[2] He completed his B.Tech in Computer Science from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur.[3] Taneja then obtained a commercial pilot's license and worked as a commercial pilot for IndiGo Airlines.[4]
YouTube career
In 2016, Taneja started a YouTube channel called 'Flying Beast' focused on fitness, health, and aviation.[5] The channel quickly gained a large following, with Taneja posting workout routines, vlogs about his life as a pilot, and other informative content.[6]
As of 2023, the Flying Beast channel has over 6 million subscribers and over 500 million views.[7] Taneja is known for his detailed exercise and diet plans, as well as his honest and relatable communication style. He has also leveraged his platform to raise awareness about important issues like mental health.[8]
In addition to his main channel, Taneja also runs a second channel called 'Fit Muscle' focused specifically on fitness and nutrition. He has used both channels to build a strong community of fitness enthusiasts.[9]
Personal life
Taneja is married to Ritu Rathee, who is also a popular YouTuber. The couple often feature each other in their respective YouTube videos. They have two daughters together.[10] Taneja is an avid traveler and aviation enthusiast. He continues to work as a commercial pilot in addition to his YouTube activities.[11]
Controversy
In 2020, Taneja was briefly suspended from his job at IndiGo Airlines after he criticized the airline's policies on his YouTube channel. This sparked a debate around social media use by employees and the right to freedom of expression.[12]
